What can I expect?
Open-ended therapy for as long as you need it
I offer psychodynamic psychotherapy which can be short term or last as long as you feel you need. We can talk about this in our initial consultation, which also gives us an opportunity to decide if we go ahead and work together. From here we can agree a weekly session time (I currently have some weekday sessions available).
A supportive space to explore how you feel
I work with adults facing specific issues (such as low mood, anxiety, loss) as well as the many other challenges we encounter in our lives. The therapy is non-directive so you can determine the focus of our sessions. I work analytically and empathically, encouraging ‘free association’ where we explore how you are feeling and thoughts that come up in the process. I offer face to face sessions at my private practice in central Bristol, or online and telephone sessions.
Ethical practice
I work within the BCP code of ethics - professional standards and values which inform and underpin my practice. I am committed to equality and believe everyone should have access to a supportive space to talk. Everything you say in a session is confidential, unless the content is required by law to be passed on. It is standard practice for therapists to be supervised by experienced practitioners (in this instance the identity of my client is always protected).
